A LITTLE CLARITY, BEFORE WE TALK
Frequently asked
questions.
From getting your records organised to finding the right support, here are a few useful answers to get you started.
Do I need to be based in East Devon?
No. We work locally in East Devon, UK, and also offer remote support to businesses and individuals across the UK. Meetings can take place by video call, so we can discuss your needs and work together wherever you are in the UK.
Who can you help?
We offer bookkeeping support for sole traders and small businesses, alongside personal budgeting support for individuals. We’ll discuss your circumstances and agree the services that fit your needs.
How much does regular bookkeeping cost?
Regular bookkeeping starts from £50 per month. Your quote depends on your business size, transaction volume, the nature and complexity of the business, and the services and frequency you need. Any migration or historical catch-up work is also considered. We agree the scope and price with you before work begins. Explore pricing and services.
Can you help if my records are behind or disorganised?
Yes. We can discuss a one-off project to organise older records, catch up on outstanding bookkeeping or migrate existing records. We’ll first establish what is available and what needs doing, then agree the work and quote.
Do I need to use Xero already?
No. You can get in touch whether you already use Xero or are considering it. We’ll discuss your current records and software, and whether a move to Xero would fit your bookkeeping needs.
Can you teach me to manage my own bookkeeping in Xero?
Yes. One-off Xero training can help you become more confident with your day-to-day bookkeeping. We’ll discuss what you want to learn and tailor the session to the tasks you need to manage.
Can I book a one-off service instead of ongoing support?
Yes. Options include organising historical records, Xero training, spending and business-budget reviews, and business analytics sessions to help you understand your reports. We’ll agree the scope and cost for the support you choose.
How often can we review my spending and business budget?
Reviews can be arranged monthly, quarterly, annually or whenever you need support during the year. We’ll agree the frequency around your priorities and the information available.
What should I include in my first enquiry?
A short overview of your business or budgeting needs is enough to get started. For business enquiries, it helps to mention your approximate transaction volume, current software and whether any records need catching up. Please leave out passwords, bank details, identity documents and confidential files. We can discuss the information needed for the next stage.
Who will I work with, and what happens next?
You’ll work directly with Curtis McKenna. After your enquiry, we’ll discuss your priorities, outline the support and information needed, and agree the scope and price. We’ll also agree how to keep you informed as the work progresses.
